SITUATION: One way that HP supports its commitment to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is by investing in helping Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) better prepare students for technology-focused careers. HP sees this as a chance to make a difference. As presenting sponsor of the annual HBCU Tech Conference, they aim to develop young talent, accelerate digital transformation, and help drive adoption of new technologies. As the 2022 event approached, they needed a complete identity and custom content to bring the online conference to life.

SOLUTION: We began by creating a visual identity system with color palette, design elements, and a 2022-specific logo. We then applied the new look to the virtual lobbies where the conference was hosted, and built a toolkit of customizable promo pieces— for print, digital, and social distribution—virtual backgrounds, and Powerpoint templates. In addition, we produced a full complement of video assets, including pre-conference promos, and daily kick-off videos to establish each day’s theme, and a conference recap. We also produced the opening keynote video, an interview with entrepreneur, Robert F. Smith, that helped launch the event with excitement and inspiration.

RESULTS: Our efforts helped support, promote, and foster the four-day virtual conference, four learning tracks with content (IT, HP Executive Leadership, Faculty and Staff, and Students), and over 1,200 participants.
